Ten Toes Africa, Inc

About our Program...

In October 2010, our partnership with Maningi FC was formed, on a vision of transforming lives, through mentorship, education, and sport. Our goal is the transformational leadership of young boys and girls, to become future leaders in their families, schools, local communities, region, and country. Today, we have several hundred children who have attended our annual Ten Toes Africa, Inc outreach weekend soccer tournaments, soccer clinics and day camps, dozens of children graduate High School and move on to graduate from University and Colleges across the USA. We have local coaches and volunteers. Our Tournament Director, Alan Johnson, orchestrates an amazing experience for the youth in Zimbabwe, and South Africa!

Our Philosophy:  (MESSI)
1) Mentoring - we offer wise advice: there is no substitute for wise council

2) Education - we encourage boys and girls to stay in school and graduate

3) Soccer - we use sport: this is core to the lives of many youths in southern Africa

4) Sports - we promote diversity of exercise and fitness, a healthy body = healthy mind

5) Initiatives - our youth have to take the initiative!

  • Annual Soccer Tournament - we host a "Safari Cup International" tournament every year
  • Outreach Programs - we visit Orphanage and Local Schools
  • Camps & Clinics - we conduct soccer camps at schools & remote sites
  • Scholarships - we provide assistance with tuition/fees to qualified students
  • University - we offer guidance to College-bound student-athletes. We contact coaches on the player's behalf.
  • Ultimately being a role model - we have coaches and former players help youth understand how to mature responsibly

Outreach Objective:
To further reach the disadvantaged areas, we have day camps and visit orphanages and schools. We request permission from headmasters or principals to visit and spend a day with the children. The activities include playing games, providing "Life Lessons" and "Life Coaching" on the opportunities that exist locally, regionally, and globally.

Fiscal Goal 2018/2019:  Our goal annually is to raise $10,000 to cover tournament costs and scholarships.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS:

Miguel Lemming, former Arcadia United FC, Zimbabwe Warriors National Team, and Young Warriors U23 player in 1998-2000 played for Zimbabwe before moving to the USA to complete his Master's Degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010. Before choosing university he was on trial in South Africa, UK, and Italy when he was recruited by Dennis Currier in 2000, on a recommendation from a friend Rob Appel. After graduating he moved to New Jersey, went on trial with the Philadelphia Union before retiring and now coaches and plays in various New Jersey leagues. His passion to provide mentorship and use his network of players and coaches inspired him to connect with his founding directors Gladman Dimbiri (Founder of Maningi FC) and former West Bromwich Albion Coach Paul Gibbons.
They connected in 2010 and have since set up several tournaments, day camps, and college recruiting opportunities for many children. Partnering with College Connect International and owner Thabani Sithole has allowed Ten Toes Africa, Inc to realize more synergy of connecting talented youth with colleges, clubs, and universities in the USA and Europe. With a partnership with Ubuntu FC Academy in Cape Town, South Africa, this has allowed Ten Toes Africa, Inc to reach more of Southern Africa.
In 2016 Alan Johnson, former Arcadia United, Motor Action player, joined as Regional Technical Director. He works closely with Valentine Gwira, Bheki Nyoni and various academies in Zimbabwe while managing his own academy and working with local coaches, and outreach programs like Chiedza Child Care. His efforts have grown TTA to over 400 children at the annual tournaments, and he has traveled all over Africa. He is also instrumental in Vision2020 for Arcadia United FC. His son Azriel won best high school team in the state of New Jersey and represents Malawi national team.
Today, TTA, Inc aims to support local businesses, purchasing from local sports clothing and equipment manufacturers. TTA Inc encourages overseas teams to tour and visit Zimbabwe and southern Africa!

TTA - Safari Cup International:
We host an annual tournament in Harare, Zimbabwe. We hope to extend this event to Victoria Falls or Cape Town. This event allows us to have talented young players converge into one location to be identified.

College Connect International Student-Athletes:

University and Clubs:

We aim to create a network that bridges relationships of talented young athletes from Southern Africa with colleges in the USA.

Why you?
We feel you understand and desire to play an active part in the betterment of the lives of these children! By giving disadvantaged children a fun two-day tournament, filled with prizes, medals, balls, and equipment, you will give hope for an education and a future, that will ignite a renewed joy of staying in school. They will complete their studies,  stay off the streets, and avoid gangs or drugs!

Your contribution will also play a role in awarding scholarships and eventually graduating from high school, college or university!
We have hundreds more at-risk and disadvantaged children, who could be given this opportunity.

 Play your part today!

We are reaching out to the rest of the world to be heroes to these young men and women through prayer and support. Be a hero for a day, and make a difference for a lifetime!
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”  Jn 10:10
